Overview
- Mitsubishi announced U.S. pricing on Tuesday, listing the 2027 Eclipse Sportback at an MSRP of $37,745 with a single optional Technology Package priced at $2,600.
- The company confirmed key specs including a 75 kWh battery, up to 282 miles of range, a 214-horsepower single-motor front-wheel-drive layout, and DC fast charging up to 150 kW with a 10–80% time of about 35 minutes.
- All models use both SAE J1772 for Level 1/2 charging and native Tesla NACS access for Level 3 charging so owners can use Superchargers without an adapter.
- Multiple outlets report the Eclipse is effectively a rebadged Nissan LEAF that shares platform and battery hardware, yet Mitsubishi’s base price works out to roughly $8,000 more than the comparable Leaf when destination fees are included.
- Mitsubishi positions the Eclipse as the first rollout of Momentum 2030 and backs it with an extensive warranty package, but analysts warn the higher price, limited dealer network and strong competitors could limit U.S. sales.
