Overview

  • Mitsubishi Motors and Foxconn's EV subsidiary, Foxtron, have signed a memorandum of understanding for the supply of a new electric vehicle model.
  • The EV will be developed by Foxtron, manufactured by Yulon Motor in Taiwan, and is set to debut in Oceania in the second half of 2026.
  • The new model is expected to be based on the Foxtron Model B, featuring a 60kWh battery and a claimed range of over 500km on the NEDC cycle, though this has not been officially confirmed.
  • Mitsubishi is also evaluating a Leaf-based EV for North America, planned for late 2026, alongside a rebadged Outlander PHEV for Nissan in the same market.
  • This partnership reflects Mitsubishi's broader strategy to expand its electrified lineup and achieve carbon neutrality by 2035, leveraging both Alliance collaborations and external manufacturing partnerships.
