Mitre Suspends Two Branches Through Monday; Roca to La Plata Resumes at Reduced Speed

  • Trenes Argentinos halted the José León Suárez and Bartolomé Mitre branches from August 30 to September 1 for bridge renewal over Av. Figueroa Alcorta and an underpass expansion at Av. Del Fomentista, with possible weather delays.
  • Long-distance departures from Retiro to Rosario, Córdoba and Tucumán are suspended during the same three days, while the Tigre branch operates normally.
  • Roca trains restore the full Plaza Constitución–La Plata route on September 1 with precautionary low speeds that will rise in stages after replacing 2,000 meters of rail and upgrading crossings between Tolosa and La Plata.
  • Trenes Argentinos says gradual speed increases will start near 12 km/h and advance toward 30, 40, 60 and then 90 km/h as the new track beds in and certification proceeds.
  • Subte Line D’s Agüero station closes on September 1 for roughly three months for waterproofing, lighting, flooring and accessibility upgrades, as the city continues station renovations across the network.
