Overview

  • Tigre branch service will be fully suspended from July 19 to 27 under the government’s Emergency Ferroviaria plan to accelerate track renewal.
  • José León Suárez and Bartolomé Mitre branches will operate only between Belgrano R and their termini, with no trains running to Retiro during the shutdown.
  • Four simultaneous work fronts will replace about 1,650 meters of rail, adding to over 9,300 meters already renewed since operations began in May.
  • Signal and fiber-optic trenching at the Retiro entrance and in Tres de Febrero and Carranza will limit Mitre and Suárez services from reaching Retiro during the works.
  • The broader two-year modernization covers 40 km of track replacement, 47 km of third-rail renewal, interventions at 24 level crossings and 22 pedestrian crossings, and repairs on dozens of structures.
