Overview
- Trenes Argentinos confirmed the Tigre ramal will not run on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September to allow replacement of critical track-switch devices that cannot be changed during nightly windows.
- The full suspension affects stations between Tigre and Retiro, including Tigre, San Fernando, San Isidro, Martínez and Olivos, with normal service expected to resume Monday 28 September.
- The Mitre line’s other two electric branches will run shortened services between Belgrano R and their terminals over the same weekend, and some Sarmiento services will operate reduced routes on Sunday.
- Passengers are advised to consult special weekend timetables, plan alternative transport such as buses or different rail routes, and allow extra travel time because some sections will be closed for the two-day intervention.
- The weekend work is part of the national Emergency Ferroviaria program that has already renewed dozens of kilometres of track, third rail and station elements and aims to complete long-running upgrades with short, concentrated service interruptions.
