Mitre Line Restores Full Service to Retiro After Nine-Day Upgrade

The restart follows accelerated works under the Emergencia Ferroviaria plan.

Overview

  • Trenes Argentinos said all three branches—Tigre, J. L. Suárez and Bartolomé Mitre—are running their full routes to Retiro as of Monday, August 18.
  • The operator issued temporary adjustments to the first and last trains through Thursday, August 21, with a special timetable for the three branches.
  • Speed restrictions remain in more than 30 sections along the Mitre corridor as a consequence of the renewal works.
  • The nine-day intervention included full renewal of 1,650 meters of track on the Tigre branch at San Isidro and Martínez, plus signaling cable ducting at Palermo, 3 de Febrero and Carranza.
  • Trenes Argentinos reports broader progress under the emergency program, including roughly 40 km of track renewal and 47 km of third-rail work, while Roca line services stay limited on some branches through August 31.
