Missy Elliott Cast in Pharrell Williams and Michel Gondry’s New Musical

The Grammy-winning artist joins a star-studded lineup for a coming-of-age film set in Virginia Beach during the summer of 1977.

Missy Elliott will play an undisclosed role in the untitled movie musical produced by Pharrell Williams and directed by Michel Gondry.
The film is inspired by the Atlantis Apartments in Williams' childhood neighborhood and features a script by Martin Hynes and Steven Levenson.
The cast includes notable actors such as Halle Bailey, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Brian Tyree Henry, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph.
Elliott, a recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, is also preparing for her first-ever headlining tour this summer.
The project marks Elliott's return to the big screen since her voice role in 2004’s 'Shark Tale'.
