Missouri Football Appoints Corey Batoon as New Defensive Coordinator
Batoon, former South Alabama defensive coordinator, steps into a Missouri program that finished last season with an 11-2 record.
- Missouri football has hired Corey Batoon as their new defensive coordinator, replacing Blake Baker who took the same job at LSU.
- Batoon, 55, spent the last three seasons at South Alabama where his defense was ranked No. 15 in the nation in yards yielded per game.
- Prior to South Alabama, Batoon had coaching stints at Ole Miss, Florida, Hawaii and Florida Atlantic, and has been a part of championship-level teams at every stop.
- Batoon's defense at South Alabama had a stop rate and havoc rate that were No. 18 and 30 in the country respectively.
- Batoon will be stepping into a Missouri program that finished last season 11-2, including a victory in the Cotton Bowl.
