Missouri Deploys National Guard to Provide Administrative Support to ICE Starting Oct. 1

Volunteer Guard members will handle office support at ICE facilities.

Overview

  • Gov. Mike Kehoe authorized the activation after a DHS request that his office described as directed to the “Department of War.”
  • Assistance begins Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025, with duty authorized through Sept. 30, 2026.
  • Duties will be administrative, clerical and logistical, including data entry and case management at processing facilities.
  • State officials say the support is intended to free ICE personnel to focus on enforcement and security functions.
