Missouri clinic stops hormone treatments for minors due to new state law

The Transgender Center at Washington University will no longer prescribe puberty blockers or cross-sex hormones to patients under 18.
The decision comes after Missouri enacted a law banning gender-affirming surgeries and medications for minors.
Current minor patients will be referred to outside providers for hormone medications.
The clinic will still offer counseling and support services to transgender youth.
Over 20 states have passed restrictions on access to gender-affirming care for minors.
