Mississippi Woman Charged with Murder of Son Found Hidden in Home

Jerri Lynn Isreal, a 66-year-old woman from Gulfport, Mississippi, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of her son, John Allen Gaither.
Isreal, who was previously convicted of murder in Florida in 1995, allegedly hid Gaither's body in a wooden box behind a false wall in her home.
Police began investigating after Gaither was reported missing on December 22, 2023, and discrepancies were noticed in Isreal's statements.
During a search of Isreal's home on January 18, 2024, police discovered Gaither's body and Isreal was taken to a hospital after ingesting an unspecified amount of pills.
The investigation is ongoing and police are urging anyone with information to contact them.
