Mississippi Jail Escapees Recaptured After Manhunt
Two inmates awaiting murder trials were found in an abandoned home a day after their escape from Claiborne County Detention Center.
- Tyrekennel Collins and Dezarrious Johnson escaped through the ceiling and an outside wall.
- Both men were considered dangerous and were captured in Claiborne County.
- Johnson sustained a leg injury during the escape and was seen limping.
- Collins faces charges for a 2023 murder in Copiah County; Johnson for a 2022 murder and aggravated assault in Jefferson County.
- Both inmates now face additional charges for escaping custody.
