Overview
- Bodhi Jackson, 17, failed to return from a morning training run that began about 9:30am on the Cascade Trail near Thredbo.
- He was located on a walking trail roughly 30 kilometres from his starting point and was airlifted out just before 5pm.
- A mountain bike rider helped raise the alarm by providing a phone to call authorities in an area with poor reception.
- NSW Police coordinated a search with the SES, Rural Fire Service and National Parks staff, including a geo-targeted text alert to local phones.
- Paramedics assessed Jackson for dehydration at the scene, and police issued fresh advice on trip intentions, adequate gear and carrying a PLB.
