Overview

  • The project has reached 94% completion and is on track for inauguration in November–December 2025
  • The 13.3 km bypass incorporates a 9 km-long, 23 m-wide tunnel and a 185 m-high bridge, each setting national records
  • Once operational, the route will shave roughly 30 minutes off MumbaiPune travel times and cut Pune-to-airport journeys to about 1.5 hours
  • The bypass is designed to eliminate ghat-section bottlenecks while reducing accidents, improving fuel efficiency and lowering pollution
  • MSRDC’s engineering feat complements Maharashtra’s wider connectivity plans, including the development of a Pune international airport
