Missing 6-Year-Old Girl Found Safe After Three Days in Northern B.C. Forest

The child, who is on the autism spectrum and non-verbal, was discovered near her home after a massive search effort.

The girl was reported missing on September 19 in the community of Southside, B.C., near Burns Lake.
She was found on Sunday evening around 6 p.m. in a forested area that had already been searched multiple times.
The search involved hundreds of volunteers, helicopters, drones, police dogs, and various rescue services.
RCMP believe the girl was moving around during the time she was missing, which contributed to the difficulty in locating her.
The child was reunited with her family and taken to the hospital for medical evaluation, with temperatures having dipped below 10°C during her time missing.
