Mishustin Opens Final SCO Heads of Government Session in Moscow
Delegations are working to implement the SCO Development Strategy to 2035 through expanded trade plus sectoral cooperation.
Overview
- The meeting caps Russia’s 2024–2025 chairmanship of the SCO Council of Heads of Government.
- Leaders are discussing phased measures to advance the 2035 strategy with emphasis on digital economy, energy, green industry, artificial intelligence, science and innovation, education, culture, tourism, health, sport and youth exchanges.
- Outcomes are expected to be set out in a joint communique, with a separate economic statement planned to articulate a shared stance in favor of an open, fair and equal multilateral trading system.
- High-level representatives from dialogue partners, observers and international organizations, including the CIS and the EAEU, were invited to the Moscow session.
- On day one, Mishustin held bilateral talks with Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref, China’s Premier Li Qiang and Mongolia’s Gombojavyn Zandanshatar.
