Overview
- The recall was announced on Saturday after regulators found Minton & Donello Organic White Orzo omitted wheat (gluten) from its ingredients and misdescribed the product as “Orzo White Rice.”
- Dundeis UK Ltd has asked customers in England and Wales to return the affected 500g packs with batch code 78850 and best-before dates 31 Jan, 02 May and 24 May 2027 for a full refund.
- The FSA issued an allergy alert saying the product is a possible health risk for anyone with a wheat or gluten allergy, intolerance or coeliac disease and advised those people not to eat it.
- Retailers including Tesco, Ocado, Amazon and Planet Organic have been told to display point-of-sale notices and Dundeis has contacted allergy support organisations to raise awareness.
