Minnesota Man Charged Over TikTok Bounty Post Targeting AG Pam Bondi

Investigators traced the TikTok account to Tyler Maxon Avalos through platform records, leaving prosecutors to prove the post was a prosecutable “true threat.”

Overview

  • An FBI affidavit says a Detroit TikTok user reported an Oct. 9 post offering $45,000 for Pam Bondi “dead or alive” with a sniper-scope dot on her forehead.
  • Agents used emergency disclosures from TikTok and data from Google and Comcast to link the account @liminalvoidslip to Avalos in St. Paul.
  • Avalos was arrested Oct. 16 and charged with interstate transmission of a threat under 18 U.S.C. § 875, a count carrying a potential five-year sentence.
  • Court filings cite anarchist-linked content on the account, including an anarchy symbol in the username and a pinned link to “An Anarchist FAQ,” plus prior convictions for stalking and domestic violence.
  • A magistrate released Avalos on personal recognizance with GPS monitoring, restricted internet use, a curfew, no weapons or alcohol, and required mental health treatment; his attorney says he is not guilty.
