Minnesota Man Arrested After Kidnapping Pregnant Girlfriend and Four Children

Chad Aanerud was taken into custody following a violent abduction and is also accused of murder and arson.

Chad Aanerud, 35, allegedly kidnapped Nikkole Dobson and her four children at gunpoint early Friday morning in Brainerd, Minnesota.
The victims were located unharmed in a white minivan during a traffic stop in Morrison County after an Amber Alert was issued.
Aanerud is accused of fatally shooting 62-year-old Lyle Maske and setting fire to a nearby home before the abduction.
Authorities warned the public not to approach Aanerud, considering him armed and dangerous prior to his arrest.
Aanerud has a criminal history including multiple felony convictions, with recent charges related to threats of violence.
