Minjee Lee Defeats Alison Lee in Playoff to Win LPGA South Korea Tournament

Minjee Lee claims her 10th tour title and becomes the third Australian player to reach double digits in tour victories, while Alison Lee continues to chase her maiden tour win.

Australian Minjee Lee won the LPGA South Korea tournament on Sunday after defeating American Alison Lee in a playoff round. Both players had finished at 16-under 272 on the Seowon Valley Country Club course.
The win marks Lee's 10th tour title and second win in her last three starts. She previously claimed victory at the Kroger Queen City Championship in Cincinnati in July.
This victory makes Minjee the third Australian player to reach double digits in tour victories, she now ranks alongside Jan Stephenson with 16 victories and Karrie Webb with 41 victories.
Despite a robust late rally from Alison Lee that forced a playoff, her birdie attempt narrowly missed at the par-4 18th where Minjee made her winning birdie. This leaves Alison still in search of her first tour victory.
Other competitors included defending champion Lydia Ko, who finished two strokes behind in third place, Angel Yin who followed her breakthrough win at the LPGA Shanghai event with a fourth-place finish, and Celine Boutier who finished in a tie for fifth along with four other competitors.
