Overview
- Registration for the Kalaa Setu challenge is open through July 30 and requires startups to submit a working Minimum Viable Concept and a demo video via the WaveX portal.
- Participants must develop AI prototypes in three core areas—text-to-video, text-to-graphics, text-to-audio—to transform official communications into regionally tailored video explainers, infographics, and audio news capsules in real time.
- Shortlisted teams will present their solutions before a national jury in New Delhi, with the winning startup securing an MoU for full-scale development and incubation under WaveX.
- Pilot projects will be conducted in collaboration with All India Radio, Doordarshan and the Press Information Bureau to deploy and test the winning multimedia tools.
- The initiative builds on the earlier Bhasha Setu translation challenge launched on June 30 and underscores the government’s push to bridge India’s digital language divide.
