Overview

  • NPHDB figures given to the minister show routine contractors down to roughly 400–500 a week from about 800–900 late last year.
  • The minister says BAM is drawing only €2.8–3 million a month despite a €10 million monthly provision for work and subcontractors.
  • BAM says fewer personnel are typical at this late-stage specialist commissioning phase and describes the project as more than 99% complete.
  • The company cites 84 new or revised design changes since last October that it says remain unpaid, has triggered the contract’s dispute resolution process, and has offered early access to completed areas since early July.
  • The State still targets a late-September handover, with six to nine months of commissioning planned and first patients due next June, as the minister warns any further delay would be unacceptable.
