Overview
- Around 12:30 PM on July 19, a steep stretch of Via della Resistenza gave way as a minibus carrying eight disabled passengers veered off and plunged about 10 meters into the torrente Agno.
- Emergency teams including fire brigades, the 118 rescue service and Carabinieri responded on site and coordinated a helicopter medevac for the gravest cases.
- Two passengers were airlifted in critical condition to Vicenza’s San Bortolo hospital, while the other six were admitted to facilities in Santorso, Arzignano and Valdagno.
- All occupants originated from a care community in Valdagno and were returning to their facility when the crash occurred.
- Investigators are examining road incline and vehicle control factors to determine the cause of the accident.
