- MINI announced the Cooper Convertible Stardust Edition and began deliveries on Wednesday, July 29, with bookings handled through the MINI India website.
- The car is priced at Rs 62.90 lakh (ex-showroom), about Rs 3.9 lakh higher than the standard Cooper Convertible, and arrives in India as a completely built-up unit which raises its cost and limits volume.
- Reports say the allocation for India is extremely small, with only 20 examples reportedly available, positioning the model as a limited-run lifestyle offering rather than a mass-market variant.
- The Stardust package adds exclusive styling cues—Sparkling Copper Grey or White Silver paint, Vibrant Silver mirror caps and 18-inch Rallye wheels plus a Union Jack graphic on the fabric soft top—while retaining the same cabin tech and safety kit as the regular model.
- There are no mechanical changes: the car keeps the 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder (about 204 hp) with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and the same performance figures, and the soft top opens in 18 seconds and closes in 15 seconds with luggage capacity of 160 litres open and 215 litres closed.
