Overview
- The two one-offs were revealed on September 6 at IAA Mobility and are displayed at the MINI Pavilion in Munich through September 14.
- The Skeg is an electric J01 rated at 190 kW that retains a 54.2 kWh battery and uses fiberglass body panels to cut weight by about 15%, with MINI claiming gains in acceleration and range.
- The Machina is a petrol F66 delivering 170 kW with widened fenders, bonnet-mounted auxiliary lights, a functional diffuser, an exposed roll cage, 5-point harnesses and a hydraulic handbrake.
- Both cars carry a white X on the roof as a co-creation marker, with visual direction by Deus creative director Carby Tuckwell, graphics by Matt Willey and design leadership from MINI’s Holger Hampf.
- A MINI JCW x Deus apparel capsule launches on September 8 at IAA before rolling out globally via Deus retail and online channels, and the cars are presented as non-production design studies.
