Minedu Confirms Oct. 13–17 Break for Public Schools, Says Oct. 10 Classes Will Run

Teachers at state schools must report for planning duties as private institutions can adjust schedules or use exceptional virtual sessions.

  • Under Ministerial Resolution No. 556-2024-MINEDU, the October recess applies nationwide to public schools from Monday the 13th through Friday the 17th.
  • Classes on Friday, Oct. 10 will take place normally in both public and private schools, according to the ministry.
  • There will be no classes in public schools on Wednesday, Oct. 15 because it falls within the scheduled break, despite a planned national strike that day.
  • During the recess, state-school teachers are required to attend their institutions to carry out planning, organization and related academic tasks.
  • The fourth lective block runs from Oct. 20 to Dec. 19, which marks the end of the 2025 school year for public schools.
