Overview

• The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner identified the victim as 31-year-old Hayley Linville.
• Police were dispatched around 10:58 a.m. Tuesday to South 20th Street and West Lapham Street for reports of a person walking in and out of traffic.
• While searching the area, a squad car struck a person lying in an alley entrance, and the individual was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
• The involved officer is a 44-year-old man with about 18 years of service and has been placed on administrative duty.
• The Milwaukee Area Investigative Team is investigating with the Waukesha Police Department as the lead, and the cause of death is still being determined.
