Overview
- The centers opened Sept. 24 at McNair Elementary in Milwaukee and Wauwatosa City Hall, offering in-person help from FEMA, state and county staff with no appointments required, and hours Monday–Thursday 9 a.m.–7 p.m. and Friday–Saturday 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
- The Wauwatosa site will close Oct. 10, with services relocating to a new site to be announced.
- Additional Disaster Recovery Centers are operating in Butler and West Bend, extending service across Milwaukee, Waukesha and Washington counties with site-specific schedules.
- Residents can apply without visiting a center at DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling 800-621-3362, with FEMA Individual Assistance applications due Nov. 12, 2025.
- The SBA Business Recovery Center in West Allis (Summit Place, 6737 W. Washington St.) is assisting with disaster loans due Nov. 10, 2025, as housing counselors advise saving receipts and records and caution against tapping retirement funds.
