• During the June 24 episode of Life in The Dales, Miles Owen reunited with Dr Rachel and paramedic Mike from the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
• In December 2022, Miles developed life-threatening diabetic ketoacidosis on the family’s remote Yorkshire Dales farm and was airlifted in a 17-minute flight to hospital.
• He spent three days in intensive care and a week recovering before returning home and adapting successfully to Type 1 diabetes management.
• Amanda Owen became emotional as she recalled the two-hour car journey that made the air ambulance response critical.
