Overview

• London Fire Brigade brought the fire under control before 6am and crews are damping down remaining hotspots.
• Fenchurch Street is closed for inbound services, with c2c warning network‑wide disruption expected until about 7.45am.
• c2c has cancelled services including the 7:15 Thorpe Bay and 8:27 Grays trains, with other trains facing delays of up to 30 minutes.
• The blaze started just before 4am in a commercial car workshop beneath a railway arch near Rhodeswell Road in Mile End.
• Eight fire engines and about 60 firefighters from Poplar, Millwall, Shadwell and nearby stations responded; no injuries have been reported and the cause remains under investigation.
