Mild Halloween for Germany Before Western Rain as November Warmth Builds

Forecasters expect an unusually mild start to November as Atlantic–tropical flow feeds warmer air into Central Europe.

Overview

  • The German Weather Service forecasts a mostly dry, mild Halloween in Bavaria, with 11–14 °C broadly, up to around 18 °C near the Alps, and light winds.
  • On All Saints’ Day, Bavaria remains the bright spot with sunshine and mild values, while dense clouds and rain advance from the west into most regions through Saturday.
  • Early November is forecast to turn unusually mild at roughly 12–21 °C, with local peaks near or above 20 °C in the south, which some meteorologists link to warm-air advection associated with Hurricane Melissa rather than a direct impact.
  • Winds strengthen over the weekend, with stormy gusts along the Alpine edge and brisk coastal winds, and showers with isolated thunderstorms are possible near the North Sea.
  • Nighttime fog is likely in pockets, including between the Ostalb and Inn–Salzach, which could sharply reduce visibility for late travelers.
