Milano Cortina 2026 Locks In Dates, Venues and Sliding Hub for Winter Games

Tested venues span city arenas to alpine sites, with the rebuilt Cortina Sliding Centre assigned every sliding competition.

Overview

  • The Winter Olympics run February 6–22, with mixed doubles curling starting February 4 and additional events on February 5.
  • San Siro hosts the opening ceremony on February 6 with Mariah Carey among the headline acts, and Verona Arena stages the closing ceremony on February 22.
  • Cortina’s 1,745-meter Eugenio Monti Sliding Centre with 16 curves will host luge (106-athlete quota, Feb. 7–12), skeleton (50, Feb. 12–15) and bobsled (170, Feb. 15–22).
  • Ski mountaineering makes its Olympic debut at Milano Cortina, joining a program spread across Milan venues and mountain sites including Livigno, Anterselva, Predazzo and Tesero.
  • Russian and Belarusian athletes may compete only as Individual Neutral Athletes, are barred from team events and excluded from the medal table, with about 15 entrants expected.
