Overview
- The Winter Olympics run February 6–22, with mixed doubles curling starting February 4 and additional events on February 5.
- San Siro hosts the opening ceremony on February 6 with Mariah Carey among the headline acts, and Verona Arena stages the closing ceremony on February 22.
- Cortina’s 1,745-meter Eugenio Monti Sliding Centre with 16 curves will host luge (106-athlete quota, Feb. 7–12), skeleton (50, Feb. 12–15) and bobsled (170, Feb. 15–22).
- Ski mountaineering makes its Olympic debut at Milano Cortina, joining a program spread across Milan venues and mountain sites including Livigno, Anterselva, Predazzo and Tesero.
- Russian and Belarusian athletes may compete only as Individual Neutral Athletes, are barred from team events and excluded from the medal table, with about 15 entrants expected.
