Mike Moustakas Signs Minor-League Deal with Chicago White Sox

The veteran infielder joins the White Sox as a non-roster invitee for spring training.

  • Mike Moustakas, a three-time All-Star, has agreed to a minor-league contract with the Chicago White Sox, including an invitation to major league camp.
  • The 35-year-old infielder hit .247 with 12 home runs and 48 RBIs in the previous season, playing for the Colorado Rockies and the Los Angeles Angels.
  • Moustakas was selected by Kansas City with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2007 amateur draft and has a career batting average of .247 with 215 home runs and 683 RBIs over 1,427 games.
  • He won the World Series with the Kansas City Royals in 2015 and has also played for the Milwaukee Brewers and Cincinnati Reds.
  • The deal was announced by the White Sox on Wednesday night, marking Moustakas' return to the MLB after a four-year, $64 million deal with the Reds ended.
