• During an Oct. 12 performance at the Meritage Resort in Napa, Mike Love paused the set to introduce a photo and video montage honoring Brian Wilson.
• Love told the audience, “We want you to see this,” and said Wilson “will always be in our hearts,” as he wiped away tears.
• The concert was a rescheduled Blue Note Summer Sessions date that had been canceled earlier this year at the same venue.
• The set included Beach Boys staples such as “California Girls,” “Surfin’ Safari,” “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” and “God Only Knows.”
• Wilson died on June 11 at age 82; his family announced the news on Instagram, and later disclosed respiratory arrest with sepsis and cystitis among contributing causes.
