Mike Flanagan to Write Clayface Movie for DC Studios

The Batman villain's standalone film is officially greenlit, with production set to begin in early 2025.

Mike Flanagan, known for his work in horror, has been tapped to write the script for a Clayface movie for DC Studios.
The film will center on the shapeshifting Batman villain, with Matt Reeves and Lynn Harris producing under their company 6th & Idaho Productions.
Flanagan first pitched the project in 2023, describing it as a horror/thriller/tragedy, but he will not direct due to other commitments, including an Exorcist reboot and a Carrie TV series.
Filming is expected to start in early 2025, though DC Studios is still searching for a director for the project.
There is speculation about whether the film will connect to Matt Reeves' The Batman series or exist as a standalone story in the DC Universe.
