Mikaeel Ali Baig Reaches Semifinals at ITF Pakistan J-30 in Islamabad

Leg one of the ITF-sanctioned J-30 event continues at the PTF-SDA Tennis Complex in Islamabad with entrants from China, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Lithuania, Russia, Thailand, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and Pakistan.
Top seed Mikaeel Ali Baig advanced to the semifinals with a straight-sets quarterfinal win, as Ippei Matsushima, Timur Gordeev, and Kristijonas Milasauskas also booked places in the last four.
Wildcard Abdul Basit, who edged Zohaib Afzal Malik in a three-set thriller earlier in the week, exited in the quarterfinals against Japan’s Matsushima.
Girls’ singles moved through the pre-quarterfinals with wins for players from Turkey and China, while Chinese and Turkish pairs progressed in the girls’ doubles quarterfinals.
The Pakistan Tennis Federation is hosting the tournament at the PTF-SDA complex with backing from PARCO, OGDCL, National Food, Ali Embroidery, and the Capital Development Authority, alongside visible engagement from PTF leadership.
