Middlesbrough Acquires Midfielder Finn Azaz from Aston Villa

The 23-year-old signs a four-and-a-half year contract after a successful loan spell at Plymouth Argyle.

Finn Azaz, a 23-year-old attacking midfielder, has been signed by Middlesbrough from Aston Villa for a reported fee of £2.5 million.
Azaz has signed a four-and-a-half year contract with Middlesbrough after impressing during a loan spell at Plymouth Argyle where he scored seven goals in 26 league appearances this season.
Azaz, who came through the West Brom academy and joined Villa in 2021, did not make a first-team appearance for either club, but has played more than 150 games in loan spells at Cheltenham, Newport and Plymouth.
Azaz was a key member of the Plymouth side that won promotion from League One and was loaned out to Plymouth again this season, but was recalled by Villa ahead of his permanent move to Middlesbrough.
Azaz, who is of Israeli and Irish descent, has represented Ireland at the Under-21 level.
