Overview
- Two skydivers collided mid-air shortly before 9:45 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 4, during the annual Lost Prairie Boogie festival in Marion, Montana.
- One jumper was knocked unconscious by the impact; although their emergency parachute deployed automatically, they died upon landing and were pronounced dead at the scene.
- The other skydiver deployed their parachute successfully and was assessed and cleared by on-site medical personnel.
- This marks the fourth fatality at the festival in the past 15 years, with previous deaths recorded in 2010, 2011 and 2019.
- Officials have withheld the victim’s identity as Meadow Peak Skydiving, the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Parachute Association continue their joint investigation.
