Microsoft Unveils Windows 11 25H2 Enablement Model, Releases Preview Updates

Overview

  • Microsoft is rolling out optional non-security preview updates for Windows 11 versions 24H2, 23H2 and 22H2 via Windows Update, introducing a PC-to-PC migration assistant and dynamic taskbar icon resizing
  • The Windows sharing menu now shows previews of links and web content so users can see shared items before sending
  • In Europe, the updates streamline default browser selection by automatically registering file and link types, pinning the chosen browser to Start and the taskbar and adding a one-click PDF default button
  • Microsoft officially announced Windows 11 25H2 in the Dev channel, confirming it will deploy new features through small enablement packages that simply need a reboot to activate
