- Microsoft publicly unveiled the redesigned Copilot app on Friday as a single enterprise-focused 'super app' that merges chat, Cowork, Home and other Copilot experiences into one interface.
- Word, Excel and PowerPoint are embedded inside Copilot so users can create and edit real Office files without leaving the AI workspace.
- A new Code tab, powered by GitHub Copilot technology, will let users build apps and dashboards from natural-language prompts and will roll out to Frontier early-access customers then to Microsoft 365 Premium and Pro previews later this year.
- Autopilot, the always-on agent formerly called Scout, is entering a private preview at the end of September with directory identities, explicit permissions, audit logs and admin controls to limit insider-risk and enforce governance.
- Microsoft will charge extra for high-end capabilities and use usage-based billing for Code, Autopilot and access to the newest models while adding FinOps cost tools so companies can monitor and control AI spending as competition and security concerns grow.
