- Microsoft began the staged rollout on Thursday, starting with limited Windows Insider previews and a mobile and web rollout set for mid‑August while Windows and macOS follow in mid‑September.
- Three consumer features — Group Chat, Podcasts and Deep Research — will be retired on August 18 and users must export any content they want to keep before that date.
- Most chats, images and other Copilot content will migrate automatically to the unified Microsoft Copilot app but files tied to retired features will not carry forward.
- The app will let people sign in with personal or work/school (Entra ID) accounts inside the same client while keeping enterprise security, privacy, compliance and admin controls separate.
- Microsoft says some services may be temporarily unavailable during migration and that free usage limits could tighten for some users as the company prepares a fuller Super App that will add coding, collaboration and agent features.
