Microsoft to Force Update Windows 11 22H2 and 21H2 to 23H2

Starting October 8, 2024, Microsoft will automatically upgrade outdated Windows 11 versions to ensure continued security and support.

Microsoft will initiate automatic updates for Windows 11 Home and Pro devices still running versions 22H2 and 21H2, starting October 8, 2024.
The forced upgrade to Windows 11 version 23H2 aims to keep devices secure and productive by ensuring they receive critical monthly updates.
Enterprise, Education, and IoT Enterprise editions of Windows 11 version 21H2 will also be affected by the end of support and subsequent forced update.
Users are encouraged to manually update their systems to avoid the automatic upgrade process and potential vulnerabilities from unsupported versions.
Windows 11 version 24H2, the next major update, is expected to be released later this fall, following a problematic testing phase involving a controversial AI feature.
