Microsoft Tests Windows 11 'Shared Audio' for Two Bluetooth Devices at Once

The Insider preview uses Bluetooth LE Audio broadcast on a small set of Copilot+ PCs with supported accessories.

Overview

  • The feature appears as “Shared audio (preview)” in Quick Settings on Windows 11 Insider Build 26220.7051 (KB5067115) for the Dev and Beta channels.
  • Windows can broadcast the same stream to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously, covering headphones, speakers, earbuds, and some hearing aids.
  • Initial support targets select Copilot+ PCs such as the 13.8- and 15-inch Surface Laptop and 13-inch Surface Pro, with broader device support planned.
  • Microsoft lists coming-soon models including Samsung Galaxy Book5 360 and Galaxy Book5 Pro lines, Galaxy Book4 Edge, and additional Surface Laptop and Surface Pro variants.
  • Compatible Bluetooth LE accessories cited include Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro, Buds3, Buds3 Pro, and Sony WH-1000XM6, with a “Stop sharing” control to end sessions.
