Overview
- Support, security fixes, and technical updates for Office Online Server end after December 31, 2026.
 - Removal of OOS will eliminate high‑fidelity PowerPoint rendering, private presenter notes, in‑meeting slide annotations, and will reduce quality of embedded video playback in Skype for Business meetings.
 - Basic screen sharing continues to work, and features such as whiteboards, polls, and app sharing remain unaffected.
 - Microsoft recommends moving to Teams for meetings and advises SharePoint Server SE and Exchange Server SE customers to use Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise or Office LTSC 2024 for document viewing and editing.
 - Existing OOS deployments will not be actively blocked, but the product will receive no further bug fixes or security updates after retirement.
