Overview

• The Quantum Safe Program will prioritize signing and network services in 2026, then begin rolling quantum-safe standards into Windows, Azure, Microsoft 365, data platforms, AI services and networking in 2027.
• Microsoft has added NIST-selected ML-KEM and ML-DSA to SymCrypt, the core cryptographic library underpinning Windows, Azure and Microsoft 365.
• TLS 1.3 enhancements will support hybrid and pure post-quantum key exchange per IETF drafts, with these capabilities moving into the Windows TLS stack.
• The roadmap aligns with U.S. guidance from NIST, CISA and the NSA and is designed to meet CNSSP-15’s 2027 mandate for new national security systems products.
