Microsoft Rolls Out Windows 10 ESU Enrollment Wizard Ahead of End-of-Support

Overview

  • The ESU enrollment wizard is available to Windows 10 Insider users now and will reach all PCs by mid-August
  • Personal devices can access free security updates by enabling Windows Backup to sync settings to OneDrive or redeeming 1,000 Microsoft Rewards points
  • Enrolled Windows 10 PCs will receive critical and important security patches from October 15, 2025 through October 13, 2026
  • Businesses can purchase Extended Security Updates at $61 per device per year with optional renewals for up to three years at higher rates
  • Microsoft continues to promote Windows 11 upgrades while supporting Microsoft 365 apps on Windows 10 until October 10, 2028 and allowing third-party solutions like 0patch
