Overview

  • The Start menu now lists all apps in a single scrollable pane, eliminating the need to navigate secondary pages.
  • Users can select either a category view that groups apps by purpose or a grid view ordered alphabetically, with Windows remembering their preference.
  • Pinned app columns, recommended items and category layouts automatically resize based on device screens, ranging from six columns on smaller displays to eight on larger monitors.
  • A toggle lets users disable the recommended section to prioritize direct access to their installed apps.
  • Dedicated Phone Link integration enables users to expand or collapse Android and iOS device content from the Start menu, with European rollout set for later this year.
