Microsoft Rolls Out Copilot Fall Release With Mico, Groups, Memory and Edge Upgrades

The release starts in the U.S., signaling a push toward a more integrated, action-taking assistant across services and Edge.

Overview

  • An optional visual persona called Mico is now shown by default in voice mode, reacting to conversations and including a tap-triggered Clippy Easter egg.
  • Copilot Groups supports real-time collaboration for up to 32 participants, complemented by a new Real Talk mode and a Learn Live tutoring experience.
  • Long-term Memory & Personalization lets Copilot store and recall user details with edit and delete controls, and new Connectors link to Gmail, Google Drive and Google Calendar alongside Microsoft services.
  • In Microsoft Edge, Copilot Mode can, with permission, view open tabs, summarize and compare information, and take actions like booking hotels or filling forms, with Journeys to revisit prior research.
  • A U.S.-only Copilot for Health ties answers to credible sources such as Harvard Health and can help match users to doctors, even as reviewers caution about accuracy and medical advice risks.
