Overview

• The redesigned Windows client replaces the tray flyout with a full app that mirrors web and mobile photo views, including Moments, Gallery, Albums, People, and Favorites.
• A built-in editor offers cropping, brightness adjustments, filters, and markup, while the People view uses face detection so users can label individuals for easier searches.
• Support for local photos is planned, allowing on-device edits that can remain on a PC or be uploaded to OneDrive.
• A Copilot-powered Photos Agent will let Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft 365 Premium subscribers query libraries, surface moments, and build albums via conversational prompts.
• Microsoft has launched a "hero link" for simpler file sharing by copying a document URL, and the iOS/Android apps are adding AI editing, animated styles, a Moments tab, and Photo Stacks to surface duplicates and blurry shots.
