• The free extension runs until October 13, 2026, and provides only monthly security patches with no new features for Windows 10.
• Enrollment opens in July via a notification or the ESU assistant in Windows Settings.
• To qualify at no cost, users must sign in with a Microsoft Account and either sync data to OneDrive’s 5 GB backup or redeem 1,000 Microsoft Rewards points.
• Windows 10 PCs with local accounts that aren’t linked to Microsoft’s cloud or Rewards system can still extend support but must pay about €30.
